  • Portable Document Format (PDF)

    A file format used to present and exchange documents reliably, independent of software, hardware, or operating system. Invented by Adobe, PDF is now an open standard maintained by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). PDFs can contain links and buttons, form fields, audio, video, and business logic. (Adobe, 2015)

  • Post-Award Activities

    Activities that ensue after the contract has been awarded that ensure that the buyer receives what was ordered on time and at the price and quality specified. These activities may include supplier development, technical assistance, troubleshooting, and the management of the contract and the resulting relationship.
  • Post-Award Start-Up Conference

    A meeting held with the contractor who was awarded the contract prior to the beginning of contract performance. It ensures that the contractor fully understands the expectations, performs accordingly, and can provide the foundation for an effective contract effort. Objectives of the post-award meeting are to ensure the contractor understands the technical requirements of the contract; to clarify the rights and responsibilities of both parties; and to determine the need for follow-up meetings.

    A material or finished product that has served its intended use and has been diverted or recovered from waste destined for disposal, having completed its life as a consumer item. Postconsumer materials are part of the broader category of recovered materials. (EPA)
